Angel's Landing

Recently we went to Zion's National Park and hiked Angel's Landing.  Zion is beautiful and only a few hours away from home.  I think Utah has to be one of the prettiest places on earth.  I wish I had gotten some photos to do it justice because it is amazing.

SPF 90 Yo!

We drove into the park and then caught a shuttle to take us closer to the start of our hike.  Pearl loved riding in the shuttle with no car seat.  She had her hand out the window most of the time pointing to pretty much everything she saw.

The only group pic we got from our time in Zion.
We started the hike around 11 am, and it was already pretty hot.  At this point I'm still feeling okay, notice I'm at least carrying the diaper bag.

This was one of the lookouts on our hike.  Notice I'm holding nothing and my personal packhorse, aka Danny, is carrying our water, diaper bag and 26 lb baby on his back.  About a half hour into our hike I started feeling so nauseous and light headed.  What a wuss!  So Danny volunteered to carry all our crap and take stops whenever I needed.  It was pretty embarrassing, especially because Melissa who is 24 weeks pregnant did awesome!  Danny was really nice to make me feel like I'm not completely lame and    we had such a fun time hiking slow and talking:)
Roman, Michelle and Bay
Adam, Melissa and Baby girl!
I didn't get a pic of Jake, Hailey or Ross at this point.  Sorry guys:(

Description: Angel's Landing is one of Zion's most spectular scenic outlooks; it can be reached only by a very demanding hike on the West Rim Trail.  It is ranked #2 of 39 attractions in Zion National Park.

If you look on the bottom corner of this photo you can see the guy that is about to hike the spine of this mountain.  It looks like a pretty sketchy hike, because it is!  The hike up to this point isn't scary.  It's steep and a ton of switch backs but nothing like this. We got to the part of the hike that a lot of people stop at and debated if we wanted to do it.  Roman and Danny, the two carrying the babies, were planning on it the whole time.  I was starting to feel a little better and could tell Danny really wanted us to try it so we started up the freaky hike despite a lady telling us not to take Pearl.  Holding on to chains and carefully placing each step you can see our start.  Bay and Pearl were of course the only babies we saw at this point.  And we were getting some awesome looks because of it.

I didn't get many pics of hiking the intense parts because I was holding to the chains.  In the beginning you are scaling this steep part and then after that it looks like this photo below.
A straight cliff down on both sides.  That little brown squiggle is the river that runs through Zion!  This is not a hike for people scared of heights.

While holding with both hands to the chain Jake says,
"I have never been so okay with looking like a wuss."

We (Danny, Pearl and I) almost made it to the very top, we were about 100 yards away when Pearl started screaming.  We tried to give her granola bars and fruit leather, but she was just sick of being in the pack.  She wanted to get out and started pushing on the bar trying to do so.  People holding onto the chains were already uptight a little bit having cliffs on both sides of them and we could quickly tell they were getting ticked by our screaming baby.  Plus it felt like she was going to jump out of the carrier.  So we decided to not risk our child's life anymore and turn around.

This was the highest picture we got.  The view was still awesome from here.
Maybe next time Angel/Satan's Landing.

The hike down was much easier.

Look, I'm smiling.

It was a fun day and we all slept awesome that night:)

I can't believe you did that hike! I am so pathetically afraid of hights. Just that picture from the cliff made me so dizzy. And I'm just sitting here at a computer.

That is an awesome place. The cliffs looked pretty scary too! Looks like Pearl finally calmed down. She looks so cute sleeping in the pack.

I love that hike. I am bummed I haven't managed to get my own family up there. Danny and Roman had to look a little crazy with the baby carriers on.

Hey there this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG
editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

Woah! I'm really loving the template/theme of this site. It's simple,
yet effective. A lot of times it's tough to get that "perfect balance" between usability and appearance. I must say you've done
a excellent job with this. Additionally, the
blog loads extremely fast for me on Safari.
Superb Blog!

The other day, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iphone and tested to see
if it can survive a forty foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation.
My iPad is now destroyed and she has 83 views.

I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
