New Year's Rancho Cucamonga Style

Our New Year's Eve morning began at the preview of the Rose Parade floats.  We didn't get to see as many floats as we would've liked, but what we did see was impressive.  My favorite flower is a rose, I know boring, but I was in Rose heaven.  There was such a variety of roses, and every other flower, making the air smell fresh and delicious!  Every part of the floats had to be made of some living thing, like seeds, flowers, fruits, ect.  It was pretty amazing what they could build!

These soldiers were made out of strips of cacti.

Pearl was pretty excited to get out of her stroller and explore this thing called, "grass" she hasn't seen in months.

As you can see it was definitely time for her nap, but she mustered the strength to eat a few more marshies.
The weather was beautiful and I loved spending time with my little buddies!
After we got back to Rangi's house, a little jump roping took place.
Rigdon has been warned that I will definitely blackmail him with this photo someday.

Later that night, Rangi and Sara fixed us a deluxe meal with all of the good stuff.

Prime rib, King crab legs, roasted asparagus and red potatoes served with Martinelli's and Pellegrino.
Pie for dessert.  Yeah, it was awesome.
 Princess Jillian and I.

After dinner we played games.  My favorites were the newly introduced, "31" and Dance Dance Revolution.
We banged pots and pans to ring in the New Year.
 Happy New Year!
And did some fireworks, risking the $5,000 fine and possible jail sentence... worth it.

2012 was an awesome year, can't wait to see what 2013 brings!
The only thing that could have made my New Year's Eve better would've been a New Year's kiss from Danny dang it!
P.S.  Millie is a wild woman and this is seriously the only picture I got of her all night!  She had no problem staying up til midnight... or 3 a.m. for that matter.

It's Pearl, NOT Paul.

I know this outfit is a bit over the top, pearls, pink lace, leopard, ruffles and ribbon... but I love it.  When I was first pregnant I wanted and thought I was having a boy.  When I found out I was having a girl it took a while to sink in.  Probably because I have four older brothers, but I definitely pictured a baby boy first.  Oh how the tables turn.
I love having a baby girl.  It's a good thing Pearl is a girl because she is literally my little doll.  I have even been compared (cough, cough ROCKY) to the gay parents on Modern Family because I'm always hot gluing something corny for her to wear.  I love to dress her up in different outfits and costumes.  I love bows of all colors, Sunday dresses and tiny Mary Jane shoes.  Making ridiculously busy bows then rigging up a make shift "Portrait Studio."  It's just all so fun.

I have a reoccurring nightmare where I ask Danny a question about Pearl.
I.E. "Did you change Pearl's diaper?" And he replies, "Pearl?  Don't you mean Paul?  And yes I changed Paul's diaper."
From there, to my horror, I find an all blue room and a baby boy named Paul.  Paul is probably a cool baby from some where in psycho dreaming mind, but he isn't Pearl.  Nightmare!
I do hope someday to have at least one boy, but holy crap girls are fun.
At least mine is:)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Throwback Thursday

It's obvious that Pearl looks a ton like Danny.  But she does look a little like me too.  My mom saved this dress from when I was a year old so I had to take a picture.  Happy Throwback Thursday to you all!

ONE.

Pearl is ONE.
She can't believe it either!

Danny and I had a small party for her with both of our families.  It was so fun!  I have always been a firm believer in celebrating one's Birthday to the max. I think that's why my Birthday is the best day of the year... until now.  I can't believe how much fun I had at Pearl's party.

Cher made some AMAZINGLY tasty cupcakes, Almond Fudge and Creamy Lemon.
Everything else we ate was just a side note.  We had cold cut subs and chips.  Easy peasy.

I made this cupcake stand out of three simple ingredients: glass candle sticks, plates and epoxy.  Total cost: $7.

Everyone that came to Pearl's party was so nice.  She was definitely spoiled!
*Sorry for the upcoming picture overload...

I honestly think she knew it was her special day.  She marched around the house with perma-smile the whole time.

This is her opening her favorite gift, a mermaid Barbie.  I know it seems weird to give a 1 year old a Barbie but she was so excited for it.  I knew she wanted one because Millie always brings hers over to our house and Pearl goes nuts for it.  She got a lot of other toys and some really cute clothes, we're both excited for!

After opening presents, we brought out the cake.
I don't know if you have ever been to a 1 year old's party but any I have been to when the cake is placed in front of them they poke at it a little and then they're done.  Since Pearl loves to eat, I wondered how she would react to having an entire cake placed in front of her with no restrictions.
She barely waited for the smoke to settle before... she was double fisting it into her mouth...

MMMmmmmmm!

Seriously, she wasn't messing around!  She was alternating BIG handfuls of cake to her mouth until we finally took it away from her!

We realized that Pearl isn't too proud to eat half of a cake... in public.... by herself.
She totally would've kept eating too.  Love this chubby chub.
And a little milk to wash it down.

 Pearl loves her Grandparents.

AnnaBelle made this awesome birthday card for Pearl.  Pearl loves her!

Well done Pearlie and Happy First Birthday!
